Is Zagreb City Museum worth visiting?

The museum is a huge collection of unexpected items reserving the history of the city. Behind each piece a story to tell. As an English speaker, you will definitely need a guide or an audio guide, as all the labels are written in Croatian.

The journey begins with the history of the castle in which the museum is now located. The story goes back to the ancient times of the first human in this land, then chronologically we pass through the years, and the changes the city went through. You will find a marriage certificate from the 1800 era, paintings of royal members, medical tools used hundreds of years ago.

The modern time is very well represented with the achievements of Slavoljub Eduard Penkala, The Oscar winning annimated film not forgetting the famous Baltazar character and how animation films were made. In addition to photos of the streets of Zagreb in the 40's or 50's. Interesting old advertisements of products you never knew they existed back then.
