There are two places in Zagreb where you can go up to have a great view of the city. The eye and the Lotraščak tower which we visited this time. Both places have the same price ticket, 20 kn, but Lotraščak tower has this historic dimention as it was built in the 13th century to define the southern entrance of the city. It was upgraded during the 19th century and the city government purchased a connon to shoot every day at noon in order for the bell reingers of all churches in the city to ring in harmony. This tradition has remained to the present day- each day at noon the connon shoots from the south window of the Tower's fourth floor.
